Our Story

Welcome! We are Linda and Katrina, a mother-and-daughter team bound by a lifelong passion for fabric, design, and creation. For as long as either of us can remember, dressmaking has been our way of life.

The spark for Sew & So Handcrafted truly ignited in 2026. After years of balancing full-time nursing with creating bespoke wedding dresses and race-day outfits, Linda decided to step back from healthcare to pour her heart into our shared dream.

This isn't our first creative venture together. Back in the 1980s, when Katrina was a teenager, Linda ran a successful children’s wear label. Together, we produced and sold beautiful garments in our own store and across Northern New South Wales Tablelands. Today, we are bringing that same collaborative energy and decades of refined skill back to the sewing table.

We do not follow fleeting fashion trends. Instead, we design for individuals who value true unique style.

Who We Are

While our hands love to create, our hearts are also dedicated to caring for others. We both work as Registered Nurses—Katrina full-time and Linda now semi-retired.

We are proud Kiwis by birth, but we have called Australia home for decades. We currently live, work, and raise our families in the beautiful, warm climate of North Queensland, which constantly inspires our bright, creative outlook.
